Donald Kinsman

KINSMAN, Donald Earl - age 90, of Linden, died Monday, April 25, 2016. Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, April 30 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 East Broad Street, Linden. Those desiring may make contributions to the Linden High School Library. Donald was born April 29, 1925 in Lansing, the son of Earl H. and Zelma (Clark) Kinsman. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy Seabees serving in World War II. He married Alta A. Stuible on May 13, 1951 at the Antrim Baptist Church and she preceded him in death on January 12, 2006. Donald received his Bachelor degree from Central Michigan University, his Master's degree from The University of Michigan and did his graduate studies at Wayne State University and Michigan State University. He worked at Linden Community Schools as a teacher for 15.5 years and as the Assistant Superintendent for 13 years. He was a member of the Linden Kiwanis, Michigan Education Association and the School Business Officials Organization of Genesee County. He volunteered for 3 years with Compassionate Care and Bay Valley Hospice and was a 4-H leader for 5 years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting for mushrooms. Donald is survived by his children, Linda K. Kinsman, Laura L. (Robert) Rodgers, Mary A. (Joey) Chittick, Neal H. (Beth) Kinsman; grandchildren, Jessica (Kevin) Browning, Matthew (Chelsea) Chittick, Jared (Lindsey) Chittick, Brian (Martha) Kinsman, Michael and Steven Harris; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Jacob Browning, Billy and Baylie Ross, Penny Chittick and Beau Chittick; sister-in-law, Doris Kinsman; several nieces and nephews.
