Donald Karabacz

KARABACZ, Donald Peter - Age 87, of Swartz Creek, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2022.  Funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek (A live stream will be available on Donald's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com).  Deacon Ron Kenney officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday from 2:00 PM until the time of the service. Donald was born January 15, 1935 in Detroit, the son of Peter and Hedwig (Grusczynski) Karabacz.  He was a 1953 graduate of Brown City High School and he received an Associates Degree from Mott Community College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Donald retired from GM Chevrolet in Flint, where he was a tool and die maker.

He was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Swartz Creek. He also was a member of the Tuesday Morning "Chevy in the hole" Breakfast Club and The Country Christian Singles. He was a licensed pilot.

Donald had a big heart, which filled his life with friends and family who adored him and his contagious sense of humor. He loved animals, his family’s farm, dancing, storytelling, working with his hands and many challenging materials, and meeting with friends for a meal.

Surviving are: his sisters, Halina Karabacz of Rochester Hills and Diane Kurleto of Rochester Hills; nieces and nephews: Carl, Paula, Renee, Trina, James, Joey; grandnieces and nephews: Claire, Alec, Chelsea, Rachel, Miles, Joel, Natasha, Phil, Faith, Gabby, Noah, Seth, John, Charlotte, Riley; and great-grandnieces and nephews: Trip, Zion, Asim, PJ, Jaxson.
