HOWARD JR., Donald R. - Age 68, of Swartz Creek, died Sunday, May 6, 2007 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10AM Thursday, May 10, 2007 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 7563 Mary St., Swartz Creek with Rev. Fr. Amos Wischmeyer celebrant. Burial will follow in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be held 2-5 and 7-9PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. A Vigil Service will be held 7PM Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society. Mr. Howard was born March 16, 1939 in Michigan City, Indiana the son of Donald and Mary Jane (Olsen) Howard, Sr. He was a graduate of Michigan City Indiana High School. He married Carole A. Mark in Cairo, IL in 1956 and had lived in Swartz Creek the last 42 years. Mr. Howard was a veteran of the US Air Force. He retired from General Motors Buick and owned Nickelodeon in Swartz Creek for several years. He also owned Coney Joe's in Durand for seven years. Mr. Howard was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Swartz Creek. Surviving are his wife, Carole Howard of Swartz Creek; 2 sons, Jeffrey and wife Darlene Howard of Brighton, Donald R. Howard, III of Swartz Creek; 4 grandchildren, Austin, Ashley, Stefanie and Jason; daughter-in-law, Renae Howard of Swartz Creek; brother, Steven and wife Kathy Howard.
