Donald Heenan

April 27, 1941 — February 20, 2008

HEENAN, Donald J., age 66 of Linden, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 20, 2008 surrounded by family. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11AM Monday, February 25, 2008 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Fr. Bosco Padamattummal celebrant. Visitation will be Sunday 2-5 & 7-9PM at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, where a Knights of Columbus service will be held at 8PM. Don was born in Flint and grew up in Tawas City where he was High School Football Team Captain. After Don married his high school sweetheart, Sharon Kendall, they moved to Flint and started their family. Don had a lifelong career as a carpenter, building and installing Formica countertops. He was a member of St. John Church and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed every season of fishing, playing cards, and woodworking. Don is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Sharon (Kendall) of Linden; daughter and sons-in-law, Tracy and Paul Christian of Fenton, Rae Ann and Norm Brothers of Atlanta, Dana and Chris Hnilica of Fenton; sisters, Mary Catherine Sheehan and Dorothy Potts. He was blessed with 7 grandchildren, Morgan, Ryan, Kendall, Carter, Davis, Cooper and Chloe. He also had many loyal friends that were there for him during his illness. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Joseph Heenan; brother, Michael and sister Francis. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the St. John G.I.F.T. Campaign.
