Donald Hale

HALE, Donald A. - age 87, went home to be with Jesus, June 21, 2022. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Friday, July 8, 2022, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden, MI 48451 with his son, Dr. Mark Hale officiating.  Visitation will be held 9 AM - 10 AM Friday at the funeral home and interment will be held 3 PM Friday at Grand Lawn Cemetery in Detroit. Donald was born July 11, 1934, in Lexington, KY, the son of Roger V. and Gertrude T. (Riley) Hale. He married Joan Dixon on February 2, 1957.  He and Joan raised 5 sons together. She preceded him in death on January 14, 2020. Donald retired from the Detroit News and Free Press as a plate maker. He was a member of Argentine Church of the Nazarene until moving to Maine in 2020. Donald enjoyed bible studies and sharing his knowledge of scripture with others. He loved his family and especially holding his great-grand babies. Surviving: 4 sons, Richard (Kelly) Hale of Gaines, Brian (Karen) Hale of Maine, Christopher (Michelle) Hale of Waterford, and Mark (Lisa) Hale of North Dakota; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
