Donald Erie FREEMAN

FREEMAN, Donald Erie - age 85, of Byron, died Monday, December 12, 2011. Services will be held 12:00 PM Friday, December 16, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 East Broad Street, Linden with Rev. Michael Mayo-Moyle officiating. Burial will follow at Union Plains Cemetery, Byron. Visitation will be held 1-8 PM Thursday and 10AM until the time of service Friday. Those desiring may make contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project. Donald was born November 2 , 1926 in Flint, the son of Erie W. and Mildred D. (Hoover) Freeman. He was the former owner of Flint Electric Company and had also worked for Allen Storage and Moving. Donald was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army. He was married to Verna Watson on June 28, 1947 in Flint, and she preceded him in death on June 30, 2006. Surviving are children, Norm (Sherry) of Fenton, Robert (Debra) of Burton, Susan (Joe) Harris of Byron, Nancy Van Hooser and Joe Winship of Indianapolis; 12 grandchildren, Emily Brandt, Erin Henderson, Elizabeth Kaars, Donald Harris, David Harris, Darci Williams, Holly Thatcher, Eric Wiselogle, Nick Wiselogle, Amy Birmingham, Zachary Freeman and Amanda Banyas; 17 great-grandchildren.
