Donald Eve

Having been of great service to his family, friends and community; Don passed away January 12, 2015. A private service has been held. An accomplished man, Don shared his time, energy and talents with many over the years. Born at home in Hartwell, Ohio on February 17, 1934, Don's family settled in Flushing, Michigan in 1942. After graduating Flushing High School, he attended Central Michigan University. And he proudly served his country as a member of the National Guard, US Army and Air Force. On May 16, 1959, Don married Marylu (Lambert) who survives him, as well as his children, Teresa (Teri) Eve of Manhattan Beach, California, Greg Eve (Jennifer Hodgson) of Fenton, sister Linda and several nieces and nephews, plus his fishing pals, Jimbo, Gene, Steve and Dick. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rachel and Ernie Eve. In 1973, Don & Marylu opened Eve Insurance Agency. This led to many accomplishments during his insurance career. He was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Michigan Insurance Agent's Association, and ultimately inducted into the prestigious Michigan Insurance Hall of Fame. Don was also honored with the Flushing High School Alumni Lifetime Achievement Award and was inducted into their Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame. He served as President of the West Flint Business Association for over twenty years and was on the Board of Directors of the Genesee County Chamber of Commerce. The family extends their sincerest appreciation to the caring staff at Hyde Park Memory Care, as well as Heartland Hospice. Don received exceptional care by everyone involved.
