Donald Domres

DOMRES, Donald B. was born, with twin sister, Hazel Domres, at home in Buffalo, NY on July 21, 1930, to Nellie Graham of Tuxbury, England and Henry Domres of German descent. Donald was educated in Buffalo, NY grade school number 59 and Burgard High School Automotive Technical and Engineering graduating with high honors.   Donald was active in church with youth organizations and Scouting obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout. After graduation, he worked in Electronic Diagnosis for a large Oldsmobile dealership in Buffalo, NY. Shortly after, Donald was drafted into the U.S. Army. After Basic Training, he was assigned as a laboratory technician in the first guided missile development and later became a guided missile instructor as several military institutions. Upon discharge from the Army, Donald was hired by Chevrolet Motors Division of General Motors in Buffalo, NY, as a Zone Service Manager, promoted a number of times around the U.S., as District Sales Manager, Zone Service Manager, Regional Service Manager, National Service Manager, and National Chevrolet Service Manager and Sales Manager for the Western United States retiring on December 31, 1986. Donald was a member of the Masonic Order, Fenton Lodge 109, 32nd Degree Mason and the Detroit Shrine. After retirement he moved to Punta Gorda, FL with his wife and two children, David and Lynn. He became manager of Punta Gorda Marina and met his current partner of 28 years, Beverly Graham and ultimately moved back to Flint, MI. Over the years, Donald received many awards for leadership and outstanding performance in his GM career and personal business, Surviving are: the light of his life, Beverly Graham; son, David Domres; daughter, Lynn (David) Rybinski; granddaughter, Morgan Rybinski.
