DICKENSON, Donald Loyd - Age 90, of Flushing, passed away on January 14, 2024 at McLaren Flint. A graveside service will take place at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 31, 2024 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly. Donald was born on September 17, 1933, in Flint, the son of the late Ralph and Violet (Ridley) Dickenson. He graduated from Flint Northern High School. Donald and Barbara Dearing were united in marriage on June 23, 1956 in Angola, IN. Sadly, she preceded him in death on September 4, 2017. He proudly served in the United States Navy until his honorable discharge in 1959. During his career, Donald worked for the Michigan Liquor Control Commission, GM AC Spark Plug and former EDS in Data Processing, Flushing Lumber Company, and lastly, at Baker College in security. He was a member of the Swartz Creek Masonic Lodge 458, American Legion Post 294 and Durand Eagles #3851. In his free time, Donald enjoyed bowling, golfing, boating, sailing and he loved animals.
He is survived by his children, Brenda Fournier (Stephen Spencer) and Jeffrey Dickenson; grandson, Jay Dickenson; step-granddaughter, Keely Spencer; great-grandson, Owen Dickenson; and siblings, Gerald and Al (Linda) Dickenson.
