GUELDE D.C., Donald F. -- Age 88 of Grand Blanc died September 21, 2015. Funeral services will take place at 1PM on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. Dr. Darrell Foltz officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 11AM until the time of service Saturday. Donald was born March 8, 1927 the son of Frederick and Laura (Booth) Guelde in Flint. He married Thelma L. Shaw, his 'neighborhood sweet heart' on June 14, 1947 in Flint. He is a veteran of the US Navy and served in World War II on the USS Liddle (APD-60). Donald was a chiropractor and owned and operated his own business, Guelde Chiropractic in Burton where he retired in September of 2012 after working 60 years. He was a member of the American Legion and was the past President of the Michigan State Chiropractic Association. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, crosswords puzzles and was an avid outdoorsman and was also a pilot. Survived by wife Thelma, son Kurt Guelde of Grand Blanc, daughter Karen (Patrick) Powers of Lapeer, grandchildren; Jacob (Elizabeth) Powers and Ashley Powers, great-grandchildren; Iris, Arlo, nephews Don Shaw, Gene (Donna) Shultz, Kenneth (Terri) Shaw, as well as many other relatives.
