DAVIS, Donald W. - Age 80, of Fenton, died Sunday, November 13, 2005 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 1PM Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Rev. Carrie Smith-Coons will officiate. Burial will follow in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-5 and 7-9PM Tuesday and from 11AM until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to the family. Donald was born June 7, 1925 in Howell, the son of Glen and Mae (Mevis) Davis. He attended Howell High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was married to Bethany Ann Jarrett on June 21, 1969 in Fenton. Mr. Davis served as under sheriff in Livingston County from 1953-1967 and retired from the Fenton Police Department as Sergeant. Surviving are: wife, Beth; brothers, Robert and wife Peg Davis of Oregon, Earl Davis, Joseph and wife Ann Davis, all of Howell; sister-in-law, Barb Davis of Howell; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Maynard and Terry Jarrett of Linden, Robert and Susan Jarrett of Fenton, Deborah and David Groulx of Flint, Wendy Doan of Burton; Lieutenant Donald Merrill of the Fenton Police Department, who was like a son to Don; dear friend, retired Fenton Police Chief, Jerry Cattaneo.
