DART, Donald L. - Age 83, of Swartz Creek, died Friday, March 12, 2010 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Monday, March 15, 2010 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swart Creek. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-7 PM Sunday. Those desiring may make contributions to the Michigan Genealogical Society or Swartz Creek United Methodist Church. Donald was born March 23, 1926 in Mundy Twp., the son of George and Orilla (Muchler) Dart and was a 1944 graduate of Swartz Creek High School. He was veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in WWII. He was married to Maxine Elizabeth Brimley on January 18, 1947 in Swartz Creek. Don was a member of the F&AM Swartz Creek Lodge #458, he served as Associate Guardian for the Job's Daughters of Swartz Creek, Bethel #31. He was a member of the American Bowling Congress. Don was a past member of ForRest Fanciers Camp Club, NCHA, the Swartz Creek Community Square Dance Club and Florida Woodcarvers Club. Don enjoyed traveling, and with his wife traveled extensively throughout the United States, Mexico and Europe. Surviving are: wife, Maxine; children, Nancy (Jim) Staley, Cheryl (Aden Allen) Jones, Craig (Laveda) Dart, Debbie (Jeff) Cook; siblings, Betty Johnson, Harold Dart, Gladys Merkle, Russell Dart, Duane Dart, Ralph Dart, Joanne Wakeman, Ken Dart; grandchildren, Lisa, Sandra, Daryl, Brian, Nathan, Jared, Brandon and Nicholas; four great-grandchildren.
