COREY, Donald N. -- Age 83, of Durand, died August 11, 2011 at Durand Senior Care and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be 2 PM Sunday, August 14 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, Pastor Jason Georges officiating. Visitation will be 3-8 PM Saturday, and 1 PM until the time of service Sunday. Those desiring may make contributions to Heartland Hospice. Mr. Corey was born March 1, 1928 in Berkley, MI, the son of Nelson and Eunice (Darling) Corey. He married Kathleen Wykes in 1972; she preceded him in death in 2004. He then married Mable (Hayden) Herring in 2006. Mr. Corey retired from GM - Metal Fab. in 1987 with 32 years of service. He enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing, and he built two of his own homes. Surviving are: wife Mable; four children, Valerie (Robert) Lauer of Pontiac, Thomas Corey of Dryden, WA, Deborah (Michael) Williams of Ellensburg, WA, Steven (Kathy) Corey of Duluth, GA; twelve grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Thomas Marshall of Arkansas, Dorothy Gardner of Flint, Barbara Reisen of Missouri, George Dorrance of Virginia, Verna Grosso of Florida.
