Donald M. CARROLL

CARROLL, Donald M., age 78 of Burton, died at home, Sunday, November 29, 2009. Donald was born in Arkansas on July 22, 1931 the son of Samuel M. and Jewel M. (Clement) Carroll, both ministers of the Church of the Nazarene. He has resided in the Genesee County area since 1953. On July 25, 1959 he married Shelba J. Clemons. Donald was an electrician with Buick Mtr. Division and retired in 1995 after 42 years of service. After retirement, he established his own successful business, Carroll Electric. Donald was a member of the Millington Church of the Nazarene, the UAW Local 599 and a member of the Flint Electrical Association. Surviving are his wife Shelba, their daughter and son-in-law, Tamara R.(Carroll) and Thomas G. Murry and grandchildren; Renee A. and Zachary G. Murry of Ohio. Also surviving are his sisters, Ruby J. Maas of Missouri, Peggy J. Brown of Tennessee; and brother, Steven M. Carroll (Betty) of Alabama, and several nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at the Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint, MI. Rev. Eric Slade will officiate and burial will take place at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family is receiving visitation at the funeral home from 4 to 8 P.M. Tuesday, December 1st and on Wednesday from 10 A.M. to service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are being accepted for the Millington Church of the Nazarene or to Genesys Hospice.
