Donald Gene Bingley, age 88, of Greenbush, MI, formerly of Flint, peacefully passed away on August 13, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. A funeral service will be held to honor and celebrate Don's life at 1 PM on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at West Court Street Church of God, located at 2920 W Court St, Flint, MI 48503. Pastor Brad Walker will officiate the service. Prior to the service, visitation will take place from 11 AM to 1 PM at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan or St. Louis Church of God Campground.
Don was born on June 10, 1935, in Flint, MI to Russell and Effie C. (Webb) Bingley. On July 1954, he married Joyce Rauch. Don owned and operated Bingley Standard Service Stations in Flint for many years.
Beyond his professional career, Don was passionate about hunting and fishing. He enjoyed hunting in the U.P. and out West and spent cherished moments hunting in Houghton Lake and hunting and fishing on Drummond Island. An avid traveler and devoted family man, Don found great joy in family vacations out West and to Florida.
Throughout his life, Don happily served his church community as a youth leader, Sunday school teacher, and basketball coach, to mention a few. He exemplified generosity by always extending a helping hand to those around him. Whether it was assisting at home or within the church or tending to his beloved family's needs, Don embraced every opportunity to provide support.
Above all else, Don's love for the Lord was unwavering. His deep affection for his wife Joyce and their family was evident throughout their remarkable 69 years of marriage.
Don leaves behind his beloved wife of 69 years, Joyce, along with their two daughters, Linda Sue Kinney and Sandra Lee and husband, Stuart Worthing. He will also be lovingly remembered by his four grandchildren: Steven Scott Kinney, Matthew Gene Kinney, Zackary Stuart (Lauren) Worthing, and Alexandra Arlene Worthing. Great-grandchildren include Kaitlyn Grace Kinney, Jacob Scott Kinney, Charlotte Grace Worthing, and Lennon Rose Worthing.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Effie Bingley, as well as his brother John Bingley and sister Joanne Gambino.
