Dolores "Lori" Lucius

LUCIUS, Dolores "Lori" Madeline - age 89, of Swartz Creek, died Monday, June 8, 2020. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 7296 Gale Rd., Grand Blanc, MI 48439 with Fr. Dave Howell celebrant. Interment will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 AM - 11 AM Wednesday at the church. Dolores was born March 5, 1931 in Maple Grove Twp., MI, the daughter of William and Helen (Wenzlick) Birchmeier. She married Clarence A. Lucius on June 16, 1951 in New Lothrop and he preceded her in death on November 10, 2009. Dolores was well known for her homemade bread, strawberry jam and pies. She very devoted to her faith and was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Swartz Creek where she was a Catechism teacher for many years. Dolores enjoyed gardening and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are: seven children, Denny (Faith) Lucius, Gary (Alicia) Lucius, Keith (Rene') Lucius, Kenneth (Marie) Lucius, Christopher (April) Lucius, Joy (Sean) Doyle, and Karen (Karl) Hense; 27 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Korson and Sr. Mary Margaret of the Dominican Order; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Clarence; two children, Gloria Cooper and Joey Lucius; granddaughter, Angela Cooper.
