Dolores R. Vernon

Vernon, Dolores Ruth, age 87, of Flint, passed away Monday, August 8, 2011. Funeral services will be 2:30 PM Thursday, August 11, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc Township. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Wednesday and 12 until service time Thursday. Interment will be in Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Carmen-Ainsworth Senior Center. Dolores was born in Cass, Indiana the daughter of Neil and Beatrice (Hawtin) Bruce. She had lived in the Flint area most of her life, was a graduate of Flint Central School, and had been employed by Al Serra Chevolet for 25 years as a Billing Clerk, retiring in 1980. Dolores also was highly involved in Carmen-Ainsworth Senior Center and had been an officer of the Ladies Auxilliary, VFW Post #8236. Survivors include; son, James (Linda) Ketner of Fenton, daughters, Karen Wines of Flint, Kelly (Randy) Summers of Willis, TX, 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren.
