Doctor Regis Benton Jr.

Benton, Dr. Regis Anthony Jr. - Age 69, of Grand Blanc, died unexpectedly November 9, 2020. Private Family Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 14 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc. Those desiring may make contributions to Gift of Life . Regis was born July 15, 1951 in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Regis Benton Sr. and Leah Jean Benton. He was a member of the last graduating class of Holy Redeemer in 1969. He was a graduate of Michigan State University and Des Moines University, College of Osteopathic Medicine. He married Jean Anderson on September 22, 1990 in Grand Blanc. He was a beloved doctor to his patients, serving generations of families of Flint and surrounding areas for 40 years. Dr. Benton loved fishing, golfing, and his MSU Spartans. Surviving are: wife of 30 years Jean; four children, Sarah (Neal) Phillips of Columbus, OH, Reggie Benton of Flint, Kyle Benton of Grand Blanc, Nina Benton of Grand Blanc; three grandchildren, Lilly and Charlotte Phillips, Fedor Benton; siblings, Gregory (Peggy) Benton of Grand Blanc, Dr. Douglas (Karen) Benton of Grand Blanc, Rick (Mary Pat) Benton of Utica, Julie (Jim) Callard of Fenton; many nieces and nephews; and his dogs Beijo and Gus.
