D. Kay Szegi

SZEGI, D. Kay - age 82, of Linden, died April 14, 2021. Funeral services will be held 12:30 PM Monday, April 19, 2021 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, MI 48430 with Fr. David Harvey officiating. Interment will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Sunday and 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM Monday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Kay was born June 30, 1938 in Johnstown, PA, the daughter of Dean E. and Margaret (Chappel) Mardis. She married James Szegi on March 4, 1978 in Highland and he preceded her in death on September 4, 2006. Kay was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, she enjoyed crocheting, reading and gardening. Kay loved her family and spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Surviving are: three sons, Michael (Donna) Mitch of Linden, Thomas Mitch of White Lake and Barry (Jennifer) Mitch of Hartland; seven grandchildren, Jessi, Carl, Danny, Thomas, Steven, Kristen, and Barry, Jr.; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Gretta Seageren of Milford, Barry Mardis of Howell and Jean DePlanche of Howell.
