IONINA, Dina - Age 92, of Flint, passed away April 29, 2024. Funeral Service 11:00 AM  Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Machpelah Cemetery 4615 Branch Rd, Flint. Dina was born July, 14, 1931 in Gorodnya, Ukraine the daughter of Zakhar Nosonovsky and Zlata (Rakhlin) Nosonovskaya. She lived and worked as a pediatric surgeon in Leningrad (Saint Petersburg) Russia. She came to the USA 30 years ago in 1994 with husband Anatoly Ionin and mother Zlata Nosonovskaya to join her children and grandchildren; in 1998 Dina Ionina became a Naturalized USA citizen. She is survived by her younger brother Iosif Nosonovsky (87) who still lives in St. Petersburg, Russia. Upon arriving to the USA at the age of 62, Dina passed the exam and worked as a surgical assistant at the old St. Joseph Hospital in Flint (by Mott College). After that, she volunteered at the Flint Jewish Federation and the International Institute of Flint assisting newly arrived Russian speaking refugees with rides to doctor's appointments, interpretation, grocery shopping, and other necessities. She also took care of her mother who lived until the age of 107. Dina is survived by her husband Anatoly Ionin (92) and her two children and four grandchildren: daughter Marina Ionina-Prasov (husband George Prasov), grandson, Zahar Prasov (wife Alexis Prasov), grandson Lev Prasov; son Boris Ionin (wife Raisa Ionin), granddaughter Inna Ionin (18) and granddaughter Julie Ionin (14).
