MEIER, Diane J. (Storz) -- Age 68, of Swartz Creek, died October 9, 2011 at University Hospital, Ann Arbor. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, October 13 at the Swartz Creek United Methodist Church, 7400 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Those desiring may make contributions to the Swartz Creek Food Bank c/o Swartz Creek United Methodist Church. Diane was born January 31, 1943 in Battle Creek the daughter of Frederick E. and Wilka O. (Watkins) Storz. She married Roger L. Meier in Flint in 1978. She was a 1961 graduate of Flint Central High School and earned her elementary education degree from U of M Flint. She taught in the Flint Public Schools serving different elementary schools and retiring from Civic Park. She was a member of the MEA and Retired Teachers. She was an avid Pickleball player, involved in the therapy dog program, and loved to travel. She was a member of the Swartz Creek Womens Club. Surviving are: husband Roger; father, Frederick Storz of Minnesota; four children, Mark Meier and wife Bonnie of Byron, Fred Beldin and wife Lori of Ann Arbor, Marcy and husband Bill Kalasky of Addison, PA, Greg Beldin and wife Candy of Flint; six grandchildren, Emily, Jordan, Ashley, Taylor, Anthony, and Brandon; sister, Deborah and husband James Propes of Minnesota; several nieces and nephews.
