Diana Lynn BUZZELL

BUZZELL, Diana Lynn - Age 56, of Tyrone Township, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Avalon Hospice. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday, July 10, 2010 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St, Fenton, with Fr. David Harvey celebrating. Interment in St. John Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St, Linden Thursday from 6-9 PM and Friday from 1-4 and 6-9 PM. A vigil service will be held at the funeral home 7:30 PM Friday. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society or St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Diana was born May 17, 1954 in Ft. Benning, GA, the daughter of Robert and Nancy (Stark) Nelson. She was a 1976 graduate of Michigan Tech University. She married Steven Robert Buzzell June 12, 1976 in Iron River. Diana has resided in Tyrone Township since 1986 coming from Flint. She retired from Hurley Medical Center as a Medical Technologist in the Hemotology Lab. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, watercoloring, fly fishing, cross country skiing, and vacationing with her family. Surviving are: husband, Steven; 3 daughters, Krista and husband Kyle Walker of Davisburg, Bethany Buzzell and Fiancee Dennis Brovont of Kentwood and Suzanne Buzzell of Tyrone Township; 2 granddaughters, Keira and Alexandra Walker; mother, Nancy Nelson of Bates Township; 4 brothers, Robert and wife Diana Nelson of Minnesota, Steven and wife Caton Nelson of Bates Township, Larry and wife Teresa Nelson of Iron River and Michael and wife Tracey Nelson of Iron River Township; 3 sisters, Sherry and husband Rick Slade of Brighton, Susan and husband Bruce Hasenbank of Free Soil and Nancy and husband Bill Johnson of Iron River Township; several nieces and nephews.
