Dephane Dorothy Dowdy

DOWDY, Dephane Dorothy  Age 78, of Grand Blanc, formerly of Flint, died Wednesday, August 20, 2003 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Saturday, August 23, 2003 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Rev. Kenneth L. Holmes officiating. Interment will be held at Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 7-9 PM Thursday and 2-5 and 7-9 PM Friday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Genesys Hospice or the American Cancer Society. Mrs. Dowdy was born June 26, 1925 in Flint, the daughter of Henry and Elsie (Ceder) Moench and had resided in Flint/ Mundy Township all of her life. She married Dean Dowdy and he preceded her in death on November 25, 2002. She was a graduate of Beecher High School, a member of Lindenwood Church of the Nazarene, and Home Extension in Hope, AR. Surviving are: children, William Dowdy of California, Llewelyn of Illinois, Sandalee (Richard) Sproul of Arizona, Everett Dowdy of California, Bradley (Barbara) Dowdy, Ricky (Sharon) Dowdy, all of Gaines; mother, Elsie Moench of Hope, AR; two brothers, Donald (Jenny) Moench of Flint, Jim (Kathy) Moench of Millington; sister, Norma (Gerald) Palmer; several nieces and nephews.
