Dennis Kirkland

KIRKLAND, Dennis W. - age 68, of Grand Blanc, passed away, September 14, 2019. Funeral Services will be 1 PM Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint. Deaf Pastor David Rouleau officiating. Visitation will be 11 AM until the time of service Saturday. Contributions would be appreciated to the family to help with funeral expenses.

Dennis was born March 24, 1951 in Anderson, South Carolina, the son of Fred James and Bernice Elene (Campbell) Kirkland. He married Jean Ellen Scheilbelhut in Flushing, July 5, 2003. Dennis graduated from Michigan School for the Deaf. He was employed as a Welder for 49 years with GM. Dennis retired in 2014 and never missed a day of work! He was a member of More Life Tabernacle, Flint. Dennis enjoyed watching wrestling and boxing on TV, going bowling, and playing board games, especially dice.  He also enjoyed going to the casino. Dennis was"'OCD" about cleaning his house. He always kept a tidy home. Dennis loved to make people smile.  He was so excited and happy when he had his first grandson. He would grab a hold of his little hand so they could shake hands and high five.  Dennis also dearly loved his pet dogs.

Surviving are: wife Jean; children, Grace Kirkland, Lela Kirkland, and Helen Richardson; grandson, S-Jay Eaton; mother, Bernice Turrill; sisters, Karen Boyd and Sandy Kirkland; and countless close friends.
