Dennis Kane

KANE, Dennis P. Jr. - Age 90, of Fenton, died Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at Genesys Hospice Care Center. Funeral services will be held 2:30 PM Saturday, November 8, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Home, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton, with Fr. Bosco Padamattummal officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until time of service Saturday. Those desiring may make contributions to Genesys Hospice Care Center or Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Mr. Kane was born May 25, 1918 in Detroit, the son of Dennis P. Sr. and Mary M. (Smith) Kane. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army. He married Geraldine M. Keeney December 2, 1939 in Flint Township. Mr. Kane retired from GM Chevrolet Plant 8 in 1978 after 32 years of service. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, U.A.W. Local 659 and the American Legion. He was an avid sports fan and had tried out for the Detroit Tigers. He also played AAA softball for many years for Hayes Industries. Surviving are: wife, Geraldine; 6 children,, Denise Koyl of Fenton, Raymond Kane and wife Wanda of Poplar Bluff, MO, Dennis Kane III and wife Pamela of Poplar Bluff, MO, Darrell Kane and wife Linda of Fenton, Norman Kane and wife Sandra of Holly, Gregory Kane of Gaines; 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
