Dennis Johnson

JOHNSON, Dennis Marvin- Age 80, of Swartz Creek, died April 29, 2016. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, May 3 at the First Presbyterian Church of Flint, 746 S. Saginaw St., Flint, Pastor Paul Ytterock officiating. Interment privately later at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek; and 10 AM until the time of the funeral Tuesday at the church. Those desiring may make contributions to the First Presbyterian Church Music Program or Fine Arts Program. Dennis was born September 30, 1935 the son of Alphonse and Doris (Asp) Johnson. He served six years in the National Guard. He married Mary Lou Barnett on August 3, 1957 in Flint. He owned and operated Johnson-Mayhew Graphics for 39 years retiring in 1995. Dennis was a member and deacon at the First Presbyterian Church of Flint, a past President of Northwest Optimist Club and West Flint Optimist Club. He served on the Flint Junior Chamber of Commerce board. He was a member at Flushing Valley Golf Club. He was a longtime member of the MSU Coaches Club. Dennis is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Lou; children, David (Shelley) of Clarkston, Dana (Bill) Gray of West Bloomfield, Drew (Heather) of Waterford, Deane (Beth) of Chicago; brother-in-law, Bruce Gilmore of Grand Blanc; grandchildren, Samantha, Olivia, Brad, Shelby, Rachel, Cooper, Betsy, and Kate.
