DOYLE, Dennis Edward - Age 68, of Grand Blanc, passed quietly away Friday, June 25, 2016 at Hurley Hospital. A Funeral Mass was celebrated 10:30 AM Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Grand Blanc. Fr. Gary Koenigsknecht celebrant. Interment was at St. John's Cemetery, Fenton. Those desiring may make contributions to the Liver Transplant Foundation c/o Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit. Denny was born January 25, 1948 in Flint, the son of the late Charles H. and Alice Fern Doyle. He was united in marriage to Jeraldine A. Kotz in 1985 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Grand Blanc. They celebrated 31 years of marriage before Denny's passing. After graduating from St. Matthew Catholic School, he joined the U.S. Army. After the completion of his service, he went to the University of Michigan on the G.I. Bill, receiving a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Dennis went on and worked 37 years for the State of Michigan, Social Service Division. His first 18 years were spent as a Juvenile Probation Officer; and the last 19 years in Adult Foster Care. He retired in 2010 from the State of Michigan. Denny was a terrifically organized man and very attentive to details. He always helped others whenever he was called upon, be it work or family. He was an avid sports enthusiast; loved to travel and read; and enjoyed gardening and shopping. Denny courageously survived two liver transplants, the first when he was 49, and the second at age 56. He lived to raise both of his sons; Ian Joseph Doyle and Andrew Edward Doyle, both of Grand Blanc. Denny is survived by: wife, Jeri; 2 sons; 7 brothers and sisters, Timothy J. of Plymouth, Charles P. and wife Susan of Swartz Creek, Margaret Ann Cottrell of Walled Lake, Michael J. and wife Beverly of Avon, OH, Mary H. Williams of Flint, Michelle T. and husband David Reynolds of Sterling Heights, and Thomas M. and wife Roberta of West Virginia; 22 nieces and nephews, their children; and many special friends. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents. The family would like to acknowledge the excellent care Dr. Brown, Dr. Moonka, and the entire liver transplant team at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.
