Dennis "Mike" BURRIS

BURRIS, Dennis Michael, "Mike", age 64, of Fenton, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:45 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2011 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Rev Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday and 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Contributions may be made to Eastern Michigan Food Bank or the American Heart Association. Mike was born June 22, 1946 in Flint the son of the late James Howard and Leah Louise (Segren) Burris. He was a 1964 graduate of Davison High School and attended Flint Junior College. Mike married Mary Louise Jupe on April 5, 1968 in Mt. Morris. He was currently employed by Dental Art Laboratories as a certified dental technician. Mike enjoyed fishing and all sports, especially Detroit Lions Football. He will be remembered for his infinite knowledge of trivia and as a connoisseur of restaurants. More than anything Mike loved his family and really enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Mary; son, Eric Burris and wife, Cathy of Chelsea; daughter, Jennifer Goings and husband, Robert of Gaines; 5 grandchildren, Nicholas, Jacob and Abigail Burris, Bryce and Allyson Goings; 3 brothers, Richard Burris and wife, Donna of Swartz Creek, Paul Burris and wife, Tammy of Columbia City, IN, Patrick Burris and wife, Dana of Gaines; sister, Dawn Warren and husband, Tim of Montrose; and several nieces and nephews.
