Dennis James AUSTIN Sr.

AUSTIN, Dennis James Sr. - age 70, of Fenton, died Thursday, October 13, 2011. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, October 17, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Pastor Jeff Akenberger will officiate. Interment at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be held 1-4 PM and 6-8 PM Sunday and 1:00 PM until the time of service Monday. Those desiring may make contributions to the Worthy Student Fund at First Flint Seventh-day Adventist Church. Dennis was born November 14, 1940 in Flint Township, the son of Warren and Beotta (Alexander) Austin. He was an active member of the First Flint Seventh-day Adventist Church. He was an avid sports fan who followed local high school and Detroit sports. He retired from General Motors, where he was a loyal employee for 35 years. Surviving are 4 children, Dennis Jr. (LeAnn), Stacy (Don) Gruber, Phillip and Angelia; grandchildren, Caleb, Andrew, Jennifer, Donovan, Savanna and Joshua; siblings, Ed (Janet), Doug, Jerry (Carol), Caroline (Virgol) Estep, Steve, Donna (Dave) Buning and Veralyn (Darrell) Matney; many nieces and nephews.
