Dennas Buchanan

BUCHANAN, Dennas Layne - Age 67, of Lapeer, died Sunday, March 11, 2018. Funeral services will be held 1PM Friday, March 16, 2018, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held 5PM - 8PM Thursday and 11Am until time of service at the funeral home . Those desiring may make contributions to the Karmanos Cancer Center. Dennas was born in Flint, on October 13, 1950, the son of the late Delbert L. and Mary E. (Whitledge) Buchanan. He married Kathy Leona Owen on March 13, 1970 and she preceded him in death on January 20, 2015. Dennas enjoyed golfing, classic cars, vacationing in Myrtle Beach and especially loved his grandchildren who called him Papa. He was a master gardener and an avid Detroit sports fan. Mr. Buchanan retired from General Motors with 41 years of service. Surviving are: three children, Michelle (Ryan) Hoffman of Roscommon, Krista (Leonhard) Allgaier of Traverse City, Steven (Ciara) Buchanan of Waunakee, WI; 10 grandchildren, Trent, Kaitlyn, Brendon, Kyle, Hunter, Nolan, Kota, Calder, Stone and Owen.
