It is with great sadness that Denise Helen Cassavoy, of Edmore, MI passed away on Tuesday, May 9th, 2023 at the young age of 65. Beloved wife, daughter, mother, and grandmother.
Denise was born in Detroit, Michigan to William and Patricia on July 9th 1957. After attending Walled Lake Central High School, she worked as a corrections officer for Oakland County Sheriff Department as well as the West Bloomfield Police Communications Center, as a dispatcher answering calls for police, fire rescue, and EMS.
Denise was married to her late husband, Charles “Cass” Cassavoy for 26 years. She enjoyed living on her 25-acre farm where she would spend her time gardening and watching the wildlife. She was a very passionate animal lover.
She is survived by her three children, Brooke Dooley, Ryan (Caroline) Kotlarz, Lindsay (Dan) Cuper, two step children, Chris (Michelle) Cassavoy, and Chuck (Julie) Cassavoy, she is also survived by many grandchildren. Denise was predeceased by her loving husband in 2022.
A small memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 27th 2023 at 10am. Located at the Great Lakes National Cemetery 4200 Belford Road Holly, MI 48442.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or the Michigan Humane Society in her honor, as Denise was an active donor.
