DeLoris D. Ferris

FERRIS, DeLoris D. -- Age 76, of Gaines, died at her home Saturday, April 17, 2004. Mrs. Ferris was born in Davison on March 24, 1928 the daughter of Stephen and Violet (Parkinson) Annibal. She had been a resident of Gaines the past 55 years. She and Dale J. Ferris were married in Angola, Indiana in 1950 and he preceded her in death in 1973. Mrs. Ferris had been employed by the Swartz Creek Schools and had worked at the Gaines Elementary School where she was a teacher's aide for over 30 years. She retired in 1998. She had attended the Gaines United Methodist Church and had sung in the church coir. She enjoyed oil painting. Surviving are: 4 children, Dalene Blanford and husband Robert, Bruce Ferris and wife Barbara, Kristy Harper, Craig Ferris and wife Cindy. There are 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and 3 'on the way'.  Also surviving is a brother, William Annibal and wife Ellen; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be 11 AM Wednesday, April 21, 2004 at the Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek.  Rev. Grant Wessel will officiate and burial will follow at the Davison Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-9 PM Monday, and 12-9 PM Tuesday.
