Deloris Yvonne Devernay

Devernay, Deloris Yvonne - Age 87, of Flint, died March 27, 2025. Funeral services will be held 1PM Friday April 4, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Rd. Grand Blanc. Pastor Joe Hall officiating (The funeral service will be live streamed and can be viewed via the link on Deloris' obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhome.com) Interment in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held 3-5 and 6-9 PM Thursday, April 3; and 12-1 PM Friday April 4 at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Diabetes Association. Deloris was born March 19, 1938 in Saginaw, the daughter of Fred and Mabel (Pecure) Colosky. She was raised in Vassar. Deloris married James F. Devernay on November 2, 1957; he has preceded her in death. She worked as a production worker at Vassar Manufacturing. She was a graduate of Carman Ainsworth Adult High School. Deloris was a member of Bristol United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was named woman of the year in 2003. She loved to crochet and give her work to people. She enjoyed watching TV (her favorites shows The Golden Girls and General Hospital) and go for rides in the car. In her younger years, she enjoyed flower gardening, bike riding, baking, and ceramics and painting. She is survived by her children, Dawanna Lyne (Dennis) Shingledecker of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Kimberly Joy (Greg) Williams of Burton, Mary Ellen (Jim) Crowl of Mt. Morris, and Jamie Elizabeth (Vince) Martin of Alaska; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren. Deloris was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; and sisters, Eunice Spangler and Rachel Cote; brothers, Loyal Colosky Sr. and James Colosky.
