O'DELL, Delores- Age 86, of Flint, died Sunday June 12, 2016. Services will be held 4 PM Thursday June 16 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. Interment at Columbiaville Cemetery. Family will receive guests from 3 PM until the time of service. Those desiring can make contributions to the Humane Society of Genesee County. Delores was born on June 20, 1929 to Hazel O'Dell in Pontiac. She was a woman before her time! She put herself though the Flint Beauty College after graduation from Columbiaville High School and worked as a production worker at AC spark plug for 30 years. She lived a simple but meaningful life. It was full of love for the people around her. She was a caregiver for many family members, an avid bowler, had fun times with her partner, Mary Lou Rosebush, enjoyed fishing with Marylou at her cabin near Farwell, loved babysitting and spoiling her nieces and nephews. A hard worker, independent, loved her fur baby, Trixie, warm laugh, smile from ear to ear, bright blue eyes, beautiful face, knew how to have a good time, ate lemon meringue pie, ice cream from Banana Boat, drank Bud Light, drank Oberon at special occasions, enjoyed working outdoors, enjoyed word searches, loved walking her dog in the park, watched the Tigers or Red Wings on TV, enjoyed "CSI" and "Law and Order," season ticket holder for the Flint Generals and Spirits, looked forward to meeting Nancy for weekly breakfast at Scotti's, thankful to have Wendy attend to her medical needs for years, looked forward to Sunday and holiday dinners at Barney and Ann's, enjoyed visits from her neighbors, Jackie and Bob, loved eating at Grandma's Restaurant and have Sally wait on her, enjoyed her weekly salon appointments with Chris at Cunningham's Barber Shop, was excited to see hummingbirds in Karen and Ken's garden, appreciated Little Barney shoveling snow and cutting her grass, enjoyed talking to her brother, Raymond, three times a day, shared life events daily on the phone with Louise, her Honolulu sister, looked forward to Kathy and Renae visiting at Christmas time, appreciated Valerie and Amy attending to her in the hospital, looked forward to visiting Erwin and Sue in Florida. She made a difference in the lives of the people who knew and loved her! She has left her generous spirit imprinted on them for a lifetime! A special thanks to Dr. Khorfan, Dr. Paul Karr Jr., and Kathy Jagielo for their compassionate care of Delores for many years! Surviving are her siblings; Raymond of Colorado, Erwin and Sue of Florida, Vernon and Linda of North Carolina, Louise of Honolulu and John Sperla Sr. of Davison; many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her mother, Hazel; brother, Roland; her dog, Trixie; sister, Audrey Sperla; grandparents, Roland and Clarissa Aurand and Ma and Pa Rosebush.
