GAUTHIER, Delbert Gary. - Age 82, of Byron Center, formerly of Swartz Creek and the Flint area, passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family on September 20, 2022. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11AM Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Rd., Swartz Creek. Fr. Louis Ekka Celebrant. Entombment will follow in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held 3-6 PM Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, with a rosary at 5:30 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to American Cancer Society. Delbert was born July 8, 1940 in Flint, the son of Norman and Helen Gauthier. Delbert was a hardworking, family man through and through. He will be remembered most for his dedication - whether it be his dedication to his job at GM, that he worked from age 22 up until his retirement - or his dedication to his family, showing up in every possible way he could. There is no better display of his dedication, however, than the dedication he showed to his high school sweetheart, Sally Roman, whom he married on November 28, 1959. Del adored and cared for Sally every day of his life of their nearly 63 year marriage. Surviving are his wife Sally; sons, Guy (Donna) and Glen (Christine); seven grandchildren, and many great grandchildren who loved him dearly - and will forever cherish the memories of such a truly loving man. He was preceded in death by his son, Anthony and sister, Barbara Woodward. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
