Delbert Leon 'Deb' Buchanan

BUCHANAN, Delbert Leon 'Deb' -- Age 77, of Swartz Creek, died Friday, December 8, 2006 at his home. Funeral Services will be held 1 PM Tuesday, December 12 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment in Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Sunday, 2-8 PM Monday. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society. Mr. Buchanan was born August 22, 1929 in Caruthersville, MO, the son of Miles and Lola (Correll) Buchanan. He retired from Buick in 1981 with 31 years of service. He enjoyed gardening and taking care of the lawn with his John Deere tractor. He enjoyed his grandkids and great-grandkids. He was always joking and had many friends. Surviving are: wife, Edna Fay; three children, Dennas Buchanan and wife Kathy of Lapeer, Debra and husband Roy Coffell of Swartz Creek, Teresa and husband George Kirby of Grand Blanc; brother, Fred Buchanan and wife Thelma of Three Rivers; two sisters, Maryellen and husband Curtis Kerr of Missouri, Peggy and husband Ollie 'Ned' Needham of Flint; grandchildren, Russ Coffell and fiancee Teria Lawson, Ryan Coffell and wife Chanda, Steven Buchanan and wife Ciara, Derek Kirby, Megan Kirby, Michelle Hans, Krista and husband Bob Ashmun; five great-grandchildren and one on the way; two step-children, Jimmy Smith, and Cathy Hebblethwaite; seven step-grandchildren.
