Debra Lee Widener

WIDENER, Debra Lee - Age 63 of Flushing, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2023.  Per Debra's request cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.  Those desiring may make contributions to Genesee County Humane Society.

Debra was born March 7, 1960 in Royal Oak, the daughter of Gary W. and Karlynn P. (Gensman) Peterson.  She was a 1978 graduate of Royal Oak High School.  She married Russell Charles Widener on June 20, 1995 in Joneboro, AR.  She had resided in Flushing since May of 2023 coming from Grand Blanc.  Debra had been employed by Taco Bell.  She enjoyed painting by numbers, coloring and playing video games.  

Surviving are: her husband, Russell; siblings, Robert (Barbara) Peterson of Arizona, Barbara Foster of Royal Oak, David (Linda) Peterson of Troy and Larry Pulawski of Royal Oak; and several nieces and nephews; and her four best friends, Maggie, Bear, Sokit, and Penny. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gary Peterson and Karlynn Pulawski; step-father, Lawrence Pulawski; and brother, Ian Peterson.  Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
