Deborah Louise Smith

SMITH, Deborah Louise - age 73 of Fenton passed away March 12, 2025. Cremation arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Home, Fenton Chapel. Memorial contributions in Deborah's memory would be appreciated to The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.

Deborah was born June 15, 1951, in Flint, the daughter of Perry and Vera (Hocut) Koon. She married Jerry D. Smith in Mt. Morris on July 19, 1969. Deborah graduated from Mt. Morris High School in 1969 where she had met Jerry in the 10th grade. She was employed as a salesclerk with J.L. Hudson and later Macy's Department Store for many years and retired in 2024. Her world revolved around her children and grandchildren as she and Jerry attended all of their school and sporting events. Deborah loved summer family vacations in Michigan and South Carolina and camping at Jellystone Park. She also enjoyed casino trips with her "best friend" Roxanne and watching Survivor and Big Brother episodes with Jerry.

Deborah is survived by her husband, Jerry; children, Lori Smith, and Jason Smith; grandchildren, Amy (John) Caswell, Amanda (Jack) Francis, Jayden Smith, and Nolan Smith; great grandchildren, Oliver Caswell, Finn Caswell, and Louise Francis; brothers, Richard (Carol) Koon,and Ken (Michelle) Koon; sister, Roxanne Ross; and many nieces and nephews.

Deborah was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Vera Koon; sisters, Lois Patterson, and Roseman Hawley. Online tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
