Deborah Ann Lenhart

March 15, 1951 — May 5, 2005

LENHART, Deborah Ann  Age 54, of Swartz Creek, died Thursday, May 5, 2005 at McLaren Regional Medical Center after fighting cancer for several years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2 PM Monday, May 9, 2005 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 609 E. Fifth Ave., Flint with Fr. Phillip Gallagher celebrant. Interment will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held 1-4 and 6-9 PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek and from 1 PM until the time of the service Monday at church. A scripture service will be held 7:30 PM Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Debbie asked that those desiring may make memorial contributions to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309. Deborah was born March 15, 1951 in Cape Girardeau, MO, the daughter of Donald and Verla F. (Higgerson) Lenhart and moved to Flint when she was very young. She had resided in Swartz Creek the last 25 years. Deborah hired in at Fisher Body #1 in 1972 and became a supervisor in 1978. She was the second woman ever to become General Superintendent in 1984. She ended her career at the Hydromantic plant being forced to retire for medical reasons after 22 years of service. She leaves behind: daughter, Jamie C. Lenhart; mother, Verla F. Wheeler; brother, Norman D. Hartle. She also leaves behind five other siblings, Don, Dan, Dana, Diane and Darla of Elkhart, IN; several nieces and nephews; a few friends, especially the Siegrist Sisters who were selfless the last part of Debbies life. Jann Siegrist-DeMarr was her caregiver helping Jamie who gave her time and life without question. She was preceded in death by: her sister, Teresa; father, Donald Lenhart.
