WENK, Dean Lowry - Age 83, of Flushing, died Sunday, June 26, 2016. Services will be held 1 PM Thursday, June 30, 2016 at King of Glory Lutheran Church, 6012 River Road, Flushing. Pastor Joyce Johnston officiating. Graveside service will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be held at the church Thursday from 12:00PM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to the family thru King of Glory Lutheran Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Dean was born August 5, 1932 in Ann Arbor the son of Norman and Helen (Lowry) Wenk. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army. He married Alwen Brown August 28, 1954 in Flint. He had resided in Flushing since 1968 coming from Flint. Dean Owned and Operated Business Printing Plus in Flushing. He was a member of King of Glory Lutheran Church, life member of the Flushing V.F.W. Post #5666, and Flushing Masonic Lodge #223. Surviving are: his wife of 61 years, Alwen; sons, Donald and wife Toshiko Wenk and Kenneth Wenk and Kathleen Ridgeway; grandchildren, Mia, Brian, Amanda, and Jeremy Wenk and Marcus Mosely; great grandson, Joseph; sister, Carol Morgan; numerous nieces and nephews; and his faithful companion, Sophie.
