YOUNT, David Lee - age 42, of Grand Blanc, died Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at Hurley Medical Center due to injuries sustained as a pedestrian struck by an automobile. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint with Pastor James Mascow officiating. Visitation will be held from 12-9 PM Tuesday and 11 AM until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the David Lee Yount Memorial Fund. Dave was born December 15, 1964 in Flint, the son of Robert and Nancy (Horton) Yount. He was a Superintendent with Niles Construction Services for many years. Dave was very active in his profession, serving as Vice-President of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades Local # 1052; he was a delegate of District 26 for the Painters Council and was an instructor for the Painters Apprenticeship Program. Dave loved his family and friends and had a passion for snowmobiling and motorcycles. He was able to get in one snowmobile ride this year on his favorite trails in Harrietta, MI. Surviving are: wife, Amy Yount of Grand Blanc; three sons, Cody, Kyle and Darrick; parents, Robert and Nancy Yount; sister, Susan and husband, Patrick Hund; brother, Michael Yount and wife, Kelli; mother and father-in-law, Arlene and Gerald Barkman; his black Lab, Misty; many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by: his grandparents, Albert and Ruth Yount; aunt, Judy Eakin. The family extends their appreciation to the staff of Hurley Medical Center's Trauma Center, Nero-ICU and the staff of Gift of Life of Michigan.
