David Vaughn

VAUGHN, David Gene - age 65, of Gaines, died Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at Henry Ford Hospital, Dearborn. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM Saturday, February 23, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 118 E. Lord St. Gaines with Fr. Douglas Osborn celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held 1-9 PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek where a rosary will be prayed 8 PM Friday. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Children's Wish Fund of Genesee County, Special Days Camp or St. Joseph Building Fund. Mr. Vaughn was born July 21, 1942 in Huntington, IN, the son of Ralph and Mary (Butts) Vaughn. He married Judith Kline on September 9, 1967. Mr. Vaughn retired from Michigan Department of Transportation in 1997 after 30 years of service as a Civil Engineer. He was veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Surviving are: wife, Judith; five children, Gregory (Dawn) of Swartz Creek, Julie Vaughn (Robin Hyman) of Grand Ledge, Sarah Vaughn of FL, Kate Vaughn and Charles Vaughn, both of Tempe; seven grandchildren, Cassidy, Gabriella, Bryce, Brendan, Max, Phinaes, and Eli; three sisters, Carole (Dick) Ummel, Marilyn, Mariann Vaughn; brother, Phillip Vaughn, all of IN; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws also survive.
