David Lee Thiese, Sr.

THIESE, David Lee, Sr. - age 85, of Flint, died April 30, 2024. A memorial service will be held 11 AM Friday, May 10, 2024 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473 with Deacon David officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 AM - 11 AM Friday, May 10. 2024 at the funeral home. 

David was born December 25, 1938 in Flint, MI, the son of Wilford Lawrence and Wynona (Glassford) Thiese. He was a 1958 graduate of Northern High School. David retired from Sears & Roebuck. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. 

Surviving are: three children, Lynne (Craig) Hatton of Flint, Douglas Thiese of New York, and Beth McCardel of Traverse City; three grandchildren, Rachel Brady, Sydney McCardel and Ally McCardel; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alan (Sandy) Thiese of Rio Communities, NM and Kurt (Judy) Thiese of Zephyrhills, FL; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Wilford and Wynona; his wife, Barbara, son, David, Jr. and brother, James. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at McLaren 5th Floor ICU for their excellent care and compassion as well as the staff and friends at Active Adult Day Care.
