David Bruce SWANTEK

SWANTEK, David Bruce - age 59, of Gaines, died Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Genesys Health Park. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:30 AM Monday, July 12, 2010 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Rd., Swartz Creek with Rev. Fr. Steven Mattson celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-9 PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek where a rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM. Visitation will also be held 10:30 AM until time of mass on Monday at the church. Those desiring may make memorial contribution to the charity of their choice. Dave was born June 29, 1951 in Bay City. He married Christine Pobocik on October 30, 1971 and retired from General Motors Metal Center in 2001 after 32 years of service. Dave enjoyed woodworking, home improvement projects and the outdoors. Surviving are: wife, Chris of Gaines; two sons, Chad of Flint and Troy of Gaines; mother and step-father, Gerry and Lee Bush of Clare; two brothers, Dennis (Dana) Swantek of Roscommon and Dan (Patty) Bush of Durand; sister, Brenda White of Kalamazoo; brothers-in-law, Steve (Julie) Pobocik of Flushing, John (Margaret) Pobocik of Lennon; several nieces and nephews.
