PALMER, David Walter - age 79, of Flint, died Friday, September 19, 2008 at Rockwell Memory Center in Fenton. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at St. Paul Episcopal Church, 711 S. Saginaw St., Flint with Rev. George Cleaves officiating. Interment will be held at St. Augustine Cemetery in Oxford. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek and from 9:30 AM Tuesday until the time of service at the church. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association. Mr. Palmer was born November 24, 1928 in Detroit. He married Charlene Goldenberg on June 16, 1952 in Los Angeles. Mr. Palmer was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean Conflict. He received a masters degree from UCLA in Library Science and worked as a Librarian, most recently at University of Michigan - Flint. Mr. Palmer was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church. He was a poet having two books of poetry published, a painter and loved sailing. Surviving are: wife, Charlene; four children, Stephen and wife, Raenette of Commerce, MI, Charna Conway of Daly City, CA, Nicholas and wife, Desiree of Pontiac, Renee of Australia; two grandchildren Shalene and Shaun.
