David Mitchell Sr.

Mitchell, David Ross, Sr. - Age 75, of Flint, passed away peacefully to meet his Lord and Savior on July 25, 2022. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Rd. Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Wednesday, August 3 and from 10 AM until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment to be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery 4200 N. Belford Rd. Holly. Mr. Mitchell was born June 17, 1947 in Mobile, AL., the son of the late Donald S. and Elizabeth (Smiley) Mitchell. He was married to Karen S. Bierwirth on September 28, 1974. They had 47 memorable years. Mr. Mitchell served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He completed training for appliance technician through General Motors Institute and retired after a 30 year plus career. Throughout the years one of his greatest enjoyment came through his creative woodworking and as word spread he was asked to create business signs and a crucifix for a church. He gave God all the credit for this gift. Dave was a loving husband and father and so very proud of each of his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Karen; 4 children, Davina (Wayne) Burgess of Pasco, WA., Michael (Wendy) Eller of Richland, WA., David (Sherryl) Mitchell Jr. of Everett, WA., Stefan Eller of Kennewick, WA; 20 grandchildren; 4 great-grandsons; brothers, Carl (Niche) Smiley of Baytown TX., Richard (Tina) Smiley of Eastview, KY; sisters-in-law, Kristin Lewis and Clare Lewis; brother-in-law, Charles Bierwirth of San Francisco, CA; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Frances Princing.
