TAYLOR, David Louis - age 77, of Swartz Creek, passed away February 5, 2025. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Flint Baptist Temple, 1430 E Bristol Rd, Burton, MI 48529 with Pastor Glenn Tatterson officiating. Cremation will follow the service and burial of cremated remains will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery, with date and time to be announced at a later date. Visitation will be held 12-8 PM Friday, February 7, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc, MI 48507 and from 12 PM - 1 PM Saturday at Flint Baptist Temple. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Flint Baptist Temple, Alzheimer's Association or an organization of one's choice. David was born on May 4, 1947 in Flint, MI. He married Lucille (Wilson) Taylor on Sept. 13, 1969 at Flint Baptist Temple, where he was a faithful member and "handy man". David proudly served in the United States Army from 1964 until May 1966 where he finished his high school education. David worked at Buick Motor Division for 34 years retiring from skilled trades in 2000. He loved fishing especially his trips to Canada with the first one beginning in the 1980's and continuing ever year after until Covid put a stop to trips to Canada. He also loved Nascar races and cheering for Jeff Gordon, he attended many different races, of course several at Brooklyn, MI, several at Las Vegas and a trip to Charlotte, Bristol and Chicago. He loved spending time and always working at the cottage, wood working, puttering in the basement and time with family and friends. David could build things, fix things, a Jack of all trades, he poured concrete for 20 years after retirement. David is survived by his wife, Lucille; Daughters, Kimberley (Tim) Telgenhof, Kelly (Jeff) Plunkey; Grandson, Troy and husband Aaron Nasser Taylor; Granddaughter, Taylor and husband, Jeremy Sleder; Great-grandsons, Ethan and Avery; Great-granddaughter, Stella; Sister, Pat Palmer of Florida and Sister and Brother in Law, Sarah and Terry Hanson of Fenton, MI; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ace and Alice Taylor and in-laws, James and Vera Wilson, and beloved niece, Pamela Hanson. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
