David Louis Lawson

Lawson, David Louis Sr. - Age 78, passed away March 5, 2025 in Fenton, Michigan. Funeral service will be held 11 AM Monday, March 10, 2025 at North Baptist Church, 4004 Lennon Rd., Flint. Visitation will be held 10:30 AM Monday, March 10 at the church until the time of the service. Timothy Shoup officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc, Michigan . 

David was born December 1, 1946 in Flint, the son of Louis and Grace (Ferguson) Lawson. He married the love of his life Deborah Griffin on July 23, 1977. At the age of 18 he began a lifelong career with General Motors, hiring in on February 4, 1965. David dedicated 43 years to the company before retiring on July 1, 2008. Even after retirement, David remained active in the workforce, later working at the Flint Auto Auction until 2022. David enjoyed jogging and running the Crim. His family was his life and all his grandchildren hold a very special in his heart. He was a devoted Christian, he cherished his church family and loved the word of God. He attended North Baptist Church in Flint. 

David is survived by his beloved wife, Debbie; children, David Jr. (Carolyn) Lawson, Michael Lawson, Steven (Kim) Lawson, Jeanne Terpenning, Teresa Sturgill; as well as Anika Lawson; numerous grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; siblings, Mary Martin, Lynn (John) Clemons, Gary (Denise) Lawson; multiple nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Grace Lawson; brother, Paul Lawson; nephews, Todd Reamer, Gerald Winn, and Louis Winn; great-nephew, Jonathon Thompson. He's in glory now and he ran a good race. The family would like to thank Absolute Hospice and Wellbridge of Fenton for their wonderful care of David.
