HICKS, David John - 68, of Swartz Creek, died April 11, 2024. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, April 15, 2024, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 402 S Ballenger Hwy, Flint, MI 48532 with Rev. Dean Dumbrille officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 - 8 PM Sunday, April 14, 2024, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473 and from 10 AM - 11 AM Monday at the church. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 402 S Ballenger Hwy, Flint, MI 48532. David was born February 13, 1956, in Flint, MI., the son of JD and Daphne Lillian (Warwick) Hicks. He was a 1975 graduate of Fenton High School. David married Julie Riccelli on January 14, 1989. He was the lead photographer among many other duties at Hicks Studios retiring in 2000 and then was a technician at JD Color Lab from 2000-2017. David was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Flint where he was an Elder and attended Men's Bible Study. He was a member of the Detroit Professional Photographers Association and the Grand Blanc American Legion. He enjoyed golfing with the Wobblies, skiing and gardening. David was very generous in the community with his photography skills and was the photographer for Hometown Days in Swartz Creek for many years. He also was known as the family historian. Surviving are: wife, Julie Hicks of Swartz Creek; son, Christopher (Danielle) Hicks of Midland; daughter, Tiphanie (Andrew) Charbonneau of Essexville; grandchildren, Dominic Charbonneau, Delenya Charbonneau and Arianna Rose; brothers, Ray (Irene) Hicks of Ormand Beach, FL and Tom (Molly) Hicks of Boyne Falls, MI; sister-in-law, Robin Hicks of Fenton; several nieces and nephews.
