David R. Jacobs, Sr.

JACOBS, David R., Sr. - Age 72, of Flint, died Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at Brian's House Hospice. Mr. Jacobs was born June 13, 1934 in Arkansas. He married Mary Elizabeth Chapman March 25, 1954 in Flint and she preceded him in death in 1988. He had been a resident of Flint most of his life and was the owner of Jacobs Painting. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Jacobs was a member of Calvary Park Community Church of God. He enjoyed traveling, going to the casino and was an avid card player. Mr. Jacobs also enjoyed horse track racing and spending time with his family. Surviving are 5 children, Scarlett and husband Daniel Allen of Flint, David, Jr. and wife Brenda Jacobs of Grand Blanc, Dr. Michael and wife Yvonne Jacobs of Pittsburg, PA, Richard Jacobs of Onaway, Sheila and husband Elliott Ostrom of Flint; 14 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mae of Florida and Linda of Arkansas. Also surviving are special friends, Harold Rushing and Jill Smith. He was also preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, John, Warren and Rush; 2 sisters, Mary and Eva. Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Saturday, February 24, 2007 at the Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd, Grand Blanc, Twp. Pastor Bill Bridgeman will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Services will conclude at the funeral home.
